Kenneth “Jack” Redman, 82, of Lima passed away at 12:35 PM on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at St. Rita’s Medical Center.
He was born on December 14, 1939 in Lima to Mahlon and Helen (Krickenberger) Laman Redman, who both preceded him in death.
Jack proudly served his country as a member of the US Navy during Vietnam. He had worked Superior Coach Company for eighteen years and then worked part-time for RTA. He then went to work and retired as the maintenance supervisor at The Ohio State University, Lima in 2004 after working for over 20 years there.
He was a former member of the American Legion Post #96, Lima Elks Lodge #54 and the Lima Eagles Aerie #370. He enjoyed camping with his grandchildren, fishing and traveling. He also enjoyed crafting and going to craft shows. He liked to watch sports, especially the Cleveland Browns and Indians and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He also enjoyed Music in the Park and eating breakfast at the Eagles.
Surviving are his sons Scott Redman of Lima, Jeff (Deana) Redman of New Knoxville and Robert Redman of Wapakoneta; his brother James (Kathy) Redman of Lima; his sister-in-law Delores Redman of Lima; his grandchildren Nick, Aaron, Shelby, Dale, Tabby, Brandon, Kaleb, Isaiah (Amber) and Ryan; eleven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his fiance Karen Herold; brothers Richard, Jerry and Robert Redman and Harold Laman; his sisters Nancy Arthur and Betty Whitelam.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL, where the family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM.
Interment will be in Shawnee Cemetery immediately following the service at the funeral home. Military honors will be held at the cemetery by VFW Post 8445, Wapak.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
