Pauline Coats, age 91, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, October, 13, 2022. She was born on May 9, 1931 in Lima, to the late Paul and Gladys (Musto) Bonito. She married Dowaine Welch who preceded her in death. She later married Daniel Coats who preceded her in death.

Pauline attended St. John’s School and South High School, class of 1949, in Lima. She retired from Ex-cello/Airfoil Textron where she worked as a hand polisher for many years. She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Lima.

Pauline was an exceptional, generous and loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed getting her hair done every week and going to church.

Survivors include a son, David (Theresa) Welch of Lima, and a daughter Lisa Coats of Lima; two grandchildren, Tracy (Brent) McBride of Wren and Michael Welch of Lima; three great grandchildren, Logan Mathewson, Kylie Mathewson, and Anthony Mathewson of Bluffton; two sisters, Rosalie Reichelderfer and Jane McKiney of Lima; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Joseph Bonito, three sisters, Mary Grace Fetter, Gerry Fields, and Mildred Haliena; and four brothers-in-law, Don Fetter, Jim McKiney, Charles Reichelderfer, and George Haliena.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at St. Rose Catholic Church in Lima with Father David Ross officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Gethsemani Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL.
